I’m pretty obsessed with anything related to space, I have the milky way tattooed on my collarbone, got the lunar lander for my birthday from mom and I light my nights with a 3D printed Moon. Today I had some idling between the projects I’m working on, so I decided to do something Moon themed as a mental masturbation.
As I didn’t have much time, it was a fast decision to go with the lunar calendar as a rapid dataviz project. I downloaded an image of the moon from Pexels and made a compound shape to form a perfect circle. With the rotate tool, I divided the ellipses into 54 equal parts to have my guidelines for the weeks, which I hid when finishing up. As I live in Budapest, the phases represent the European timeline, on other parts of the world (like the US) lunar eclipses will be visible in the second half of the year.
