The rapid loss of bees due to the extensive usage of pesticides could soon lead to extinction, that scientists say, would also mean the end of humanity. The explanation is easy, out of the 100 crop species that provide us with 90% of our food, 35% are pollinated by bees, birds and bats. The formula is no bees, no food, no likey.
As an honor of these diligent beauties, I thought to recycle my polar bear from last year and turn it into a brown one for this design. The inspiration for the beehive map is coming from one of my favorite colleagues at Starschema, Tamas Varga. Let’s cry over the interactive version on Tableau Public. 🐝
