At the office we have a whiteboard on the wall that we like doodling on, and my Friday afternoons are usually all about drawing and drinking lemon flavoured non-alcoholic beer to kick the weekend off. Today I sketched up these two guys (a normal distribution and a skewed distribution) to cheer up my colleague, inspired by a call I had yesterday. I had to explain how a normal distribution looks like, and the only thing that came to my mind was, that it’s like in the The Little Prince, when the snake swallows the elephant. The girl I was talking to laughed out loud and told me that it’s the most funniest solution she’d ever heard, but the answer she expected was bell-shaped.
